3rd Annual Guide Dogs of America Fishing Tournament Official Rules:

In order for a team to be entered into the 3rd Annual Guide Dogs of America Fishing Tournament, the team captain must register their team with complete angler information. 
Number of Anglers
Teams will consist of no more than 5 anglers and one boat (A fishing license is required of anyone who fishes in the public waters of Texas. This covers all the legal means and methods used for taking fish from rod and reel. All persons under 17 years of age, whether Texas residents or non-residents, are exempt from license requirements).
Guided vs. Unguided Teams
There will be no distinction between guided and unguided teams.
Texas Parks and Wildlife Rules
All Texas Parks and Wildlife rules govern this tournament and will be strictly enforced. Violators will be disqualified. All fish must be caught by person or team weighing the fish in.
Mandatory Captains Meeting - Friday
A MANDATORY ATTENDANCE TO THE CAPTAINS MEETING IS REQUIRED BY EACH TEAM CAPTAIN OR HIS DESIGNEE. Each team is required to officially check in all members of their team at the designated check in table Friday from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Polygraph Exam
Polygraph exams will be given to one angler of each randomly chosen winning team. Alcohol will affect the results; each team should have a non-drinking member/boat driver of their team. Refusal or failure of the exam will result in disqualification.
Fishing Day - Saturday
The actual fishing day for the 3rd Annual Guide Dogs of America Fishing Tournament is Saturday, August 5, 2017. Anglers will NOT BE ALLOWED TO BEGIN FISHING OR HAVE LINE IN THE WATER PRIOR TO 6:00 a.m.  All tournament fish must be caught at this time.
Types of Fishing
Wade fishing, live and artificial bait are allowed.
Competition categories
1st – 3th place will be awarded in each category. Only one prize per category will be awarded per boat.
a) Heaviest Trout over 15”
b) Heaviest slotted Red Fish (20”-28”)
c) Heaviest Flounder over 14”
*Kids 11 and under registered for the kid fish will be awarded a trophy for the longest, heaviest and ugliest fish.
Weigh in Rules
Each team’s numbered ice chest with properly marked and amount of fish for weigh in must be inside roped area by 3PM. Category fish will be unmarked (Maximum six fish in ice chest, two of each species)  All weight determined by the weight master will be final. In the event of a tie, winner will be determined by length. Protest fee of $250 paid by team captain to committee chair (winner takes all) upon committee decision.
